Tell us what matters. We’ll handle the rest.

With IndeVets, you select how many days per week you want to work (1–5) and choose your default working days. Your Scheduling Coordinator curates your schedule around those preferences, with support from VetFit, our clinical and work style fit system that helps match how you work to how each clinic operates.

No shift shopping. No guessing about income. No scrambling to fill hours.

You receive a guaranteed salary every two weeks—even if a hospital cancels.

It’s easy, tell us how you want to practice by setting your preferences:

  • Tell us how many days you want to work.
  • Tell us the types of shifts you love (GP, ER, urgent care, dentistry, etc.).
  • Indicate your favorite hospitals
  • Let us know if you plan to take PTO.

We then use your input to tailor your personalized schedule, curated to suit your lifestyle, your skills, and your commute from home.

Why do we do it this way? Because at IndeVets we know that veterinarians aren’t looking for just one thing to create a happy career—they’re looking for stability, clarity, and support. At IndeVets, you choose the days you work, receive a guaranteed salary and benefits, and know your schedule well in advance so you can plan your life around it. All so that you can focus on practicing great medicine—with real schedule control and long-term sustainability built in.

Practice where you thrive.

Thanks to our strong partnerships with 5,000+ hospitals across the country, your preferences open the door to a wide range of clinics, including corporate groups, private practices, ERs, and urgent care hospitals. It’s a chance to practice great medicine across diverse environments and build experience you wouldn’t get staying in one place.

That means more opportunities to grow, without worrying about office politics or unpaid overtime.

We even take extra steps to make it easy to walk in the door, too. Before each shift, you’ll receive a VetFit Brief—a personalized prep guide covering everything you need to know about that specific clinic: the workflows, procedures, dress code, where to park, communication style, pace of care, and more. So you walk in prepared, not guessing

Found a practice (or two or three) you love and want to go back?

We’ve got options for that as well.

Found a few favorites?

Add them to your preferences, too. With your hospital preferences set, we will always try to prioritize those when building your schedule.

Long-Term Placement (LTP)

A 13-week commitment (or longer if you want) to a hospital you love for at least one shift for one day per week. We can combine LTPs with your regular IndeVets shift work to create your ideal schedule.

Associate IndeVet in Residence

This is a six-month commitment to a practice of your choosing. You have a consistent schedule on days that work for you. Plus, you get a flat bonus from the practice at the end of the residency.

And what happens if you walk in the door and that shift doesn’t feel like the right fit? We’ve got your back. Let your support team know. Your feedback directly shapes where you’re placed going forward, so the more you share, the better your schedule gets.

Get paid for every minute you work.

As an IndeVet, you’ll always be competitively compensated. All full-time Associate IndeVets earn in the top 20% of all veterinarians. If your shift runs long, you’re working on records or eating lunch? You’re paid for it, every minute of it. And there’s no production or negative accruals. (Ever.)

It also means that when you’re off, you’re off. No on-call. You’ll never hear from us late at night or be asked to come in on your day off.

Want to earn a little extra? You can also let us know if you’re open to picking up last-minute, high-incentive shifts, or adding more days to your schedule. And with Power Up PTO, you have the option to bank extra shifts as future paid time off instead of overage pay.
